For Sale By Owner (Un-Represented Sellers)

Technically…all property sales are being sold by the “owner“. But some chose to do it without a broker representing their interests. They are commonly known as FSBO listings  (For Sale By Owner…pronounced Fizzbow).  Throughout the real estate industry, they are also known as “un-represented sellers”.

Most sellers chose to forego broker representation because they want to save on the brokerage fee. Others just like to market homes themselves! (Hey…that’s not so crazy. I like it enough to make a career out of it!!)

Either way, most folks selling on their own will still compensate a broker who finds a ready, willing and able buyer for them. This makes sense for them because the overwhelming number of buyers in the market have chosen broker representation. Having a  knowledgeable professional involved on the buying side also helps provide some assurance that the transaction will go more smoothly.
