Westfield, New Jersey, formerly known as the West Fields of Elizabeth was settled in 1720 and was incorporated as a town in 1903. The town is well known for its vibrant downtown shopping district, excellent school system, and a small town environment that is brimming with activities and events. Conveniently located close to major highways and transportation, Westfield offers easy access to New York City, metropolitan New Jersey, and Newark’s Liberty International Airport. Under the leadership of the Downtown Westfield Corporation (DWC), the town has been designated a National Main Street Community.  It has even won the prestigious Great American Main Street Award by the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Perhaps you’d like to participate in one of the many sports or recreational programs offered in town. Or, maybe an afternoon at the Memorial Library would be more your speed. How about an afternoon swim at the Memorial Pool and a concert at the Mindowaskin Bandstand in the evening? When the weather’s bad, try dinner at one of the wonderful local restuarants, and a movie at the Rialto Theatre!

Home to the Westfield Symphony Orchestra, the Westfield  Community Band, the NJ Workshop for the Arts, and the Westfield Community Players, this is a town where the performing arts thrive!
