5 Reasons Why Westfield, NJ Should Be On Your Home Buying List in 2010!
Westfield IS “Small Town Lifestyle”.
Living a “small town lifestyle” means that there are plenty of things to do, without having to pack the car and make it a full day outing. When my wife and I were looking for a place to call home, we wanted to pick a town where our daughter could ride her bike to the library after school, or walk to the ice cream shop after seeing a movie in the local theater with friends. Westfield is that kind of town. There are so many things for everyone…and many of them within walking distance.
Schools.
If you’re a parent, you’ll appreciate the variety and quality of the schools in town. Westfield’s public schools consistently rank among the highest in the state for academic achievement. There are also several private and parochial schools to meet the needs of children of all ages. Early childhood & daycare, as well as programs for children with special needs are all available right here in town. Whatever your needs or preferences, you’re able to meet them with the Westfield schools.
Downtown.
One of Westfield’s treasures is the spectacular town center. A winner of the “Great American Main Street” award from the National Trust for Historic Preservation, this vibrant downtown offers a mix of upscale restaurants, coffee shops, boutiques and national chain stores. Whether your looking to shop in the afternoon or spend a night out on the town, you’re certain to find something that suits your fancy.
Parks & Recreation.
Looking to just kick back and relax? The Westfield Recreation Commission manages over 200 acres spread across 9 town parks. Here you’ll find duck ponds, picnic areas, soccer fields and baseball diamonds. Maybe you’d prefer to come out one summer evening and listen to the community band perform in the town band shell. Bring your lawn chairs and come early…you’ll want to scout out a gerat spot!
Commuter Access.
Do you need to commute in and out of New York City? No problem! NJ Transit’s Raritan Valley Line has a station stop in Westfield with service to Newark Penn Station. There is connecting service to Penn Station in New York. If you’d prefer to take the bus, NJ Transit runs bus service in and out of the Port Authority Bus Terminal. If you need to leave town for business or pleasure, Newark’s Liberty International Airport is only 20 minutes away!
It’s hard to believe that it’s been almost 10 years since my family and I bought our home in Westfield, NJ. But during that time, we have found this to be a wonderful community to live and work!
